INTRODUCTION
A good drilling fluid, * Promotes a fast rate of penetration, * Stabilizes shales, * Puts a protective cake, over porous sections, * Keeps the hole clean * Controls pressure. * It must have enough viscosity and gel strength to suspend cutting and weight materials.
Polyanionic Cellulose products are field tested and especially developed to improve the effectiveness of oil well drilling muds available in two grades.
POLYANIONIC CELLULOSE (Low viscosity) POLYANIONIC CELLULOSE (Regular grade)
SILENT FEATURES OF POLYANIONIC CELLULOSE
- Improves control of fluid loss - Are compatible in high saline conditions - Are resistant to bacterial attack - Are resistant to degradation at high temperature - Help to speed up drilling operation.
ADVANTAGES OF POLYANIONIC CELLULOSE IN DRILLING MUDS
- Polyanionic Cellulose Provides controlled viscosity with the lowest possible solids contents - It ability to promote fast rate of penetration - It is a pure, high, molecular weight, polymer that is easily dispersible in all water base-drilling Muds. - It is effective in fresh water and in all ranges of salt water, from seawater to saturated salt Water mud system. - It gives excellent whole control properties a minimum of solids. - It is non - biodegradable and extremely resistant to microorganisms.
USING COMBINATION’S OF POLYANIONIC CELLULOSE REGULAR AND LOW VISCOSITY
Used together in appropriate proportion regular and low viscosity of PAC combines to enhance the properties of mud. Polyanionic Cellulose Regular, the longer chain polymer gives the better inhabitation and water loss control than PAC low viscosity grade. A small amount of PAC low viscosity is admixed to a high solids mud to improve viscosity control. Regular PAC than added, good inhabiting and water loss control is attained without increasing viscosity.
PACKING AND STORAGE
Polyanionic Cellulose is supplied in 25 Kilo net weight HDPE - ploy lined sacks with extra Liner inside. It should be stored in the dry under which conditions it can be kept indefinitely.
